Organized jointly with Pravega 2017 (the IISc UG Fest), "The Been's Call - An Evening with Dagar Vani" featured a Rudra Veena recital by Ustad Bahauddin Dagar, hailing from the Dagar Vani. He was accompanied on the Pakhawaj by Pandit Sanjay Agle, who has received talim in both the Nana Pahnse and Kudao Singh Paramparas of Pakhawaj.
Ustad Bahauddin Dagar began his recital with an Alap-Jod-Jhalla in Rag Shree, followed by Dhrupad set to Matta Tal (9 beats). Next he rendered an Alap-Jod-Jhalla in Rag Yaman, along with a Dhrupad set to Chautal (12 beats).
The concert was followed by an interview, where Ustad Bahauddin Dagar talked about Dhrupad, the Dagar Vani and the Rudra Veena.
